Mr. Cabes was one of the founding members of Avista Capital Partners in 2005.  Prior to joining Avista, Mr. Cabes was a principal at DLJMB Global Energy Partners, an affiliate of Credit Suisse, which he joined in 2001 to focus on private equity investments in the energy sector.  Prior to joining DLJMB, Mr. Cabes served as an investment banker at Credit Suisse, DLJ and Prudential Securities where he was engaged in debt and equity securities underwriting and merger and acquisition assignments for energy companies. 

Mr. Cabes received a B.B.A. from Southern Methodist University in 1991.  Mr. Cabes holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Houston Society of Financial Analysts. 

Mr. Cabes is based in Houston, Texas and currently serves as a Director of ACP II Marcellus, Hansa Hydrocarbons, Royal Offshore, Celtique Energie, Geokinetics, Laramie Energy, Manti Exploration, Pinnacle Gas Resources and Spartan Offshore Drilling.  He previously served as a Director of Copano Energy, Medicine Bow Energy and MedServe.
